TrailBound Account Deletion

trailboundhub.com

You have the right to delete your TrailBound account and all associated personal data. This page explains how to do that, what is removed, and what may be retained for legal reasons.

Option 1 — From Inside the App

If you can sign in to TrailBound:

  1. 1. Open the TrailBound app and sign in.
  2. 2. Go to your Profile page.
  3. 3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
  4. 4. Confirm the two-step deletion prompt.

Your account and data are erased immediately, your Premium subscription is canceled, and you are signed out.

Option 2 — If You Cannot Access the App

Submit a deletion request

If you lost access to your device, forgot your password, or uninstalled the app, submit your account email below. Our team will verify your identity and process the deletion manually.

What We Delete

All your TrailBound personal data is erased:

  • Profile information (name, trail name, email, bio, photo)
  • Community posts and comments you created
  • Trail journal entries and photos
  • Trail condition reports you submitted
  • Hiker Match profile
  • Bird and plant identification journals and sightings
  • Budget tracker entries
  • Saved resupply stops and audiobooks
  • Shuttle driver or trail angel listings
  • Push notification and trail alert subscriptions
  • Hostel and shuttle bookings
  • Premium subscription (canceled, not charged again)

What May Be Retained

Some data is retained for legal compliance:

Stripe payment history

Your Stripe subscription is canceled so you are never charged again, but Stripe retains the Customer record and payment history for legal, financial, and tax compliance (typically 7 years per US regulations). This is required by law and cannot be erased.

Moderation records (anonymized)

If another user reported you, that report is kept for moderation history but your email is replaced with "[deleted user]" — your identity is removed from the record.

Platform logs

Error and system logs in our hosting platform may contain your email in error messages. These are retained per the platform’s log retention policy and are not publicly accessible.

Data Security

All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. TrailBound does not sell your data to third parties.
